what is the url item had filenames stripped?

also we the ampresands stripped on the original upload or only the files that were added to the existing item?

if it was only when added that is likely becasue the "Classic Uploader", which is the button in the editfiles page, is a different uploader and will strip special characters and spaces.

a better way to add to an existing item is use:
archive.org/upload?identifier={youritemid]

so for https://archive.org/details/lnl_numenera_01_bealeofboregal you would use:
archive.org/upload?identifier=lnl_numenera_01_bealeofboregal, click your return key, and just drag the new files in. You can't delete files from there though.

a better plan is to just not use special characters and/or spaces.

The item is the one you used here. It was only the files added later on that had the ampersand and spaces stripped. So it seems this is an issue with the different uploaders.

Thanks for the explanation. It's odd, but as long as I know what's going on I can hopefully avoid problems.

and you can always go into Edit item > change the files > right click on a file and select rename and change the filename.
